Lisa Vieira Dias is a PhD candidate in public health sciences at the University of Toronto in Canada. Her dissertation research focuses on the social, political, and moral implications resulting from the promotion of popular diets that challenge established nutritional advice. More specifically, her research explores a Paleo diet website as a biopedagogical site that deploys ancestral narratives to reproduce “truths” about the body and health.

Martyna Anna Janjua completed her PhD in public health sciences at the University of Toronto in Canada. Her research focuses on the social effects of health surveillance among immigrants in Canada. She is particularly interested in exploring how health policies shape social interactions and material circumstances. Conceptualizing learning as a lifelong endeavor, Martyna has begun to pursue her passion in the discipline of music.
